Portobello-RMF Engineering Ltd was established in 1979 under the name of Reactive Metal Fabricators (Anston) Ltd, then in 1997, as the result of a management buyout, the company name was changed to RMF Engineering Limited. Recently in 2009 Compass Holdings Ltd announced that Portobello Fabrications Ltd and RMF Engineering Ltd were to merge, becoming Portobello-RMF Engineering Ltd. The new company has assumed all existing liabilities, warranties and responsibilities.
From thier head office and manufacturing facility in Dinnington, near Sheffield, close to the M1 motorway. Portobello-RMF Engineering export equipment worldwide, including the Middle and Far East, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Russia. The company also has a comprehensive range of major clients in both the UK and overseas, for whom a complete service in the design and manufacture of specialist equipment is offered, specific to client's individual requirements.
The amalgamation has resulted in a larger, diverse and more efficient company with the ability to operate accross a broad range of Industries.
Design
Computer software including CAD and Finglow programmes ensure that all mechanical design is performed in-house. International Design Codes such as ASME, PD5500, AD Merkblatt and Stoomwezen form the basis of RMF's design capability.
In addition Portobello-RMF Engineering can provide "Bespoke Solutions" to your engineering problems. Expertise in the mechanical design and manufacture of exotic metal fabrications puts the company at the for front of the industry.
Quality
A fully documented Quality System has been developed which encompasses the effective implimentations systems and procedures required to produce high quality products. Portobello-RMF Engineering successfully achieved registration to the British and European Quality Standards ISO 9001, EN 29001:1987 in 1992 and have since been successful in retaining this registration under the revised standards of BS EN ISO 9001:1994. ASME U Stamp.
In 2004 Portobello-RMF Engineering successfully achieved accreditation to 180 9001 - 2000
